Camping Trailers in a Nutshell

Camping enthusiasts know that the great outdoors is the best place to wake up to, but a tent sometimes isn’t the best place to wake up in.  That’s why they’ve got camping trailers of all sorts.  But with so many different types… what’s the best one for you?

Camping trailers range from “pop-up” trailers, which fold into themselves for convenient travel, to full-sized fifth-wheels and travel trailers.  Pop-ups tend to be more for weekend use and for places that offer facilities, although at the very least they’ll have some storage space and can have amenities like a fridge, a stove, and even a sink and water system.  Fifth-wheels and travel trailers will have more features, but they don’t come cheap.

Pop-ups are convenient and can actually bunk several people at once.  But they’re not recommended for winter use: a trailer you can insulate for those winter camping trips or adventures in ice fishing.  But for summer, a pop-up can make for a great camping experience without the hassle of setting up a tent.

It mostly comes down to you:

  • What are you looking to use it for?
  • What are you looking to spend?
  • What do you want out of your trailer?

Take some time on the lot and try out your options.  You’ll know exactly what you need when you see it!
