Texas Parks Prepare for Spring Break

Texas Parks Prepare for Spring Break

The Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) reports that its members are preparing for a wave of campers to hit the state during spring break. Some facilities are already filling up with reservations as guests book early to secure their spots.

The Vineyards Campground & Cabins in the Dallas/Fort Worth area sits on Grapevine Lake and is anticipating large crowds. The park is upping their golf cart inventory and increasing their supply of firewood and s’mores ingredients. They’re also introducing a new t-shirt design to sell to the forecasted crowds. The Vineyards makes an effort to have planned activities throughout the entire spring break period. Spring break also heralds the advent of fishing season, as March is when the fish really start biting. In addition to fishing, the Vineyards offers kayak, paddle boat and bicycle rentals to its guests.

Hill Country RV Resort in New Braunfels is also planning for the crowds. They’ll include nightly Disney movies, marshmallow roasts, crafts and Karaoke events for their guests. In addition, the park offers an indoor heated pool and a jumping pillow.

Because spring break dates vary based on the school district, park owners anticipate that their facilities will see increased activity for much of the entire month of March. Although most parks expect to be full, several still had sites available as of last week.
