Pennsylvania Declares RV and Camping Month

Pennsylvania Declares RV and Camping Month

Once again, Governor Tom Corbett has declared the month of May to be “Recreational Vehicle and Camping Month” for the state of Pennsylvania. This is the 23rd straight year for the declaration.

The governor believes that recreational vehicles offer citizens a unique way to visit the sites, learn the history and enjoy the culture of the state. RVing plays an important role in the economy of the state. There are numerous campgrounds, dealerships, suppliers and service providers throughout the state.

The state also hosts the largest industry and retail show in the United States. The show takes place in Hershey at the Giant Center and includes the opportunity for consumers to see and learn about the latest new products in the RV industry.

The Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association (PRVCA) also kicks off its annual Open House campaign to coincide with the governor’s declaration. They encourage residents to seek out and visit their local campgrounds and RV dealerships. The RV industry offers a great way for residents to explore their state, but it also supports the state’s economy with job opportunities. The PRVCA encourages residents to visit their website at www.prvcca.org to learn more. Visitors to the website can also order a free copy of the publication Explore Pennsylvania which includes articles and tips on camping as well as a directory of campgrounds and other RV related businesses.
