Grand Design – New Company on the Block

A new RV company is being introduced at the National RV Trade Show in Kentucky. Grand Design RV Co. is making its debut with a kickoff breakfast at the show on Wednesday, November 28th. They’ll also have a booth at the show to help introduce the vision for their new company.

The company is being formed by Ron Fenech, Bill Fenech and Don Clark, all former executives of Thor Industries, Inc. The company begins with less than 20 employees in a 67 acre, 400,000 square foot building in Middlebury, Indiana.

The men state that they have wanted to break off and do something that was “special and unique that we could totally control”. Their first offering will be a line of mid-priced extended stay fifth wheels. These will make their debut at the Florida RV Trade Association’s SuperShow in January 2013.

The end goal is for Grand Design to be a privately held, RV manufacturing firm that can compete in today’s market by strategically selecting dealers who understand the company’s vision and philosophy.
