Destination Wyoming

Wyoming is a popular destination for RV enthusiasts. It offers desert terrain, the Rocky Mountains, over 75 rivers, Devils Tower and Yellowstone Park. There are many destinations worth exploring within the state.

Devils Tower reaches to a height of 1,267 feet above the Belle Fourche River. The formation is the core of a volcano that has been exposed due to the erosion over the span of millions of years. This national monument has long been revered by the Native American people. There are trails for hiking around the monument and visitors can usually spot climbers scaling its heights.

The town of Buffalo is another great destination. Be sure to stop at The Occidental Hotel. This turn of the century structure and historic landmark is a living museum. Inside you’ll see original wood plank floors, evidence of bullet holes and an amazing tin ceiling. The hotel has played host to the likes of Presidents Hoover and Roosevelt, Ernest Hemingway, Buffalo Bill Cody and Butch Cassidy. Sample the buffalo burgers while soaking in the atmosphere in the saloon.

Head to the Big Horn Mountains for some beautiful scenery. Stop in at the Washakie Museum and Cultural Center for some interesting exhibits on local history and geology. A trip to the Pryor Mountain Wild Mustang Visitor Center is another great stop. Visitors might also have a chance to spot some of the horses in the wild.

Yellowstone is worth a long stay and will draw visitors back again and again. With favorites like Old Faithful, impressive scenery, thermal pools, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and more, it is yet another perfect destination in the lovely state of Wyoming.
