Coleto Creek Lake Camping

Scooter and Gail Reaser enjoyed boating on Coleto Creek Lake in Texas. When they realized that more could be offered in terms of camping in the area, they decided to act. As owners of a 60 acre pasture near the reservoir, they were in the position to provide another camping opportunity.

In October, they opened Phase 1 of their new campground. The campground is called the Victoria/Coleto Creek, Texas KOA Campground. It includes 124 campsites, each equipped with free cable television and Wi-fi. The campground also offers a 10,000 square foot pet playground and a nature trail exploring the area.

Plans for Phase 2 and Phase 3 include a large pavilion, more campsites and recreational activities including rentals of both bicycles and watercraft. The Reasers feel that the next phases will move along more easily now that the initial Phase is complete which included infrastructure steps like electricity and sewer.

As guests enter the campground they’ll see a palm tree lined boulevard with a circular island. Flags will fly representing the U.S., Texas, and Kampgrounds of America. Each guest’s home state flag will also be flown for the duration of their stay.

The campground offers its own catfish pond, hiking and swimming, but is also very close to the entrance to the Coleto Creek Lake Reservoir which offers additional boating and water sport activities.
