Choosing a Travel Trailer

Choosing the right trailer is a difficult prospect, particularly when you are planning on living in the trailer fulltime. Looking for the right features is of the utmost importance in making a trailer feel truly like a home.

The interior must be highly functional, but ideally would also be aesthetically pleasing. Nice touches like good quality wood cabinets and solid piece countertops help to make the unit feel more like a home.

Storage is a key factor for those traveling fulltime. Travel trailers do not typically have the large storage bins found in fifth wheels, but there are models available with ample space for storage.

Look for a model that has an outdoor kitchen to allow you to take advantage of good weather days. It’s wonderful to have the option for either indoor or outdoor cooking. Many models offer a options like a mini stove top and even a refrigerator.

Entertainment options are important to many buyers. A wall mounted flat screen TV or an entertainment center complete with CD and DVD players are easily found.

Size matters in terms of internal space, but also is a factor for parking your rig. Make sure you are comfortable with the length and width of your final purchase. You’ll want to feel confident in your parking ability when arriving at your campsite. Be sure to consider any slide outs when looking at size.

Pick the details that mean the most to you. There are a variety of amenities available. Shopping around should help you narrow down those things that are most important and those that are just ‘nice to have’.
