ARVC Names Mega Park of the Year
The Sun-N-Fun Resort and Campground in Sarasota, Florida was recently named “Mega Park of the Year”. The honor was bestowed from the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC). The ARVC announced the winner at their annual hospitality conference held November 5th through 8th in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The award is handed out annually. The recipient park must have more than 500 campsites. The resorts are evaluated on various criteria including customer service, community service, operational excellence and national directory ratings. This year marks the third time that Sun-N-Fun has won.
Sun-N-Fun has been open for campers since 1967. They were acquired by Carefree Communities earlier in 2013. The resort includes 1,500 sites. They are located on 177 acres. For visitors who do not have their own RV, the resort offers RV site rentals and park model rentals.
The president of Carefree, Colleen Edwards said “Carefree’s strategy is to own and operate destination RV resorts in prime North American markets that offer a ‘leisure resort lifestyle’, exceptional service, and a cohesive sense of community for our customers and residents. Tim Deputy and his Sun-N-Fun team are a shining example of the culture Carefree aspires to extend throughout our company and communities. We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication it took for Sun-N-Fun to earn ARVC’s Mega Park of the Year award.”
