Lake Louise State Recreational Area is located near Glennallen in the Copper Valley. Lake Louise is a favorite playground for Alaskans year-round. Area activities include camping, fishing, boating, bird watching, hiking, biking, berry picking, snow machining, skiing, skating, hunting, and Northern Lights viewing. Lake Louise offers great year round fishing and sports four species of fish: lake trout, whitefish, burbot and arctic grayling. Lake Louise and the surrounding area are home to a great variety of wildlife and birds. It is the only known recorded freshwater nesting site for cormorants.
