RVing Without an RV

RVing Without an RV

So you want to try the RV lifestyle, but aren’t ready for the financial commitment of purchasing an RV? Surprisingly, one third of RV parks across the United States have accommodations to suit your needs. Good Sam has compiled a great list of parks that offer park model RVs or other types of stationary dwellings. This is also a great option for those who do have an RV but would like friends or family without RVs to be able to spend some time at the same park. Some parks have park models that are rented nightly, while others rent them to seasonal customers who are staying long term.

There are a number of dwelling options, depending on the park selected. You’ll find everything from traditional cabins to more unique structures like yurts. Yurts were used by nomadic Mongolians and are circular tents built with durable fabric and sturdy frames. Many yurts are even equipped with bathrooms.

For an unusual option, consider a park like Mt. Olympus Zeus Village and Camp Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. Here, guests can stay in mock tree houses. These are equipped like any modern day hotel room wrapped up in a whimsical visual package.

Be sure to check out Good Sam’s Top Parks with Creative Accommodations for 2013 for a complete list of campgrounds ready to welcome those without RVs.
