RV Expert Releases Road Awareness DVDs for RVers

Keeping in mind the growing popularity of RVing, a local entrepreneur, Mark Polk, has created a range of informative DVDs catering to this market. Launched by RV Education 101, his own company, these contain guides and teaching materials aimed to help both the beginner and the novice RVer.

Regarding his DVDs, Polk notes that there are a few RV-specific driving techniques to keep in mind when driving such large vehicles.

According to him, these points might not be covered in the normal driving lessons.

“Many people, especially new RVers or those who have never driven large vehicles, don’t feel comfortable towing a trailer or driving a large motorhome without some type of additional training. When most people were taught to drive they were just taught the hows and not the whys. Teaching the whys or the mechanics of driving gives RVers the tools and skills they can apply to any vehicle or any driving situation,” he said.

Thus, his DVDs cover a range of RV-related topics. This included explanations about driving a motorhome and towing a travel trailer or fifth wheel trailer.

His DVDs also feature contributions by Lorrin Walsh, professional bus driver.

She helps provide useful safety tips for handling large vehicles like the RV.

“That means developing an ongoing awareness of driving motor coaches, and the execution of unique driving techniques needed to become a safer and a more confident driver,” was Polk’s take on these safety procedures.
